Release Notes
This is the initial release of Trilio Site Recovery for OpenStack, a disaster recovery service for OpenStack operators and cloud administrators. It provides comprehensive protection for groups of OpenStack VMs by replicating Cinder volumes to a secondary site and orchestrating a full suite of failover and failback operations.
New features
- Protection Group ManagementCreate and manage protection groups that logically bundle OpenStack VMs together for coordinated disaster recovery. Groups serve as the primary unit of replication and failover orchestration.
- Cinder Volume ReplicationAutomatically replicate Cinder volumes attached to protected VMs to a secondary OpenStack site, ensuring data is available for recovery in the event of a primary site failure.
- Planned FailoverOrchestrate a controlled, graceful failover of a protection group to the secondary site with minimal data loss, intended for scheduled maintenance or migration scenarios.
- Unplanned FailoverPerform an emergency failover to the secondary site when the primary site becomes unexpectedly unavailable, recovering workloads as quickly as possible from the most recent replicated state.
- Test FailoverExecute a non-disruptive test failover to validate that recovery procedures and replicated data are working correctly, without affecting production workloads on the primary site.
- Failback OperationsOrchestrate the return of workloads from the secondary site back to the primary site once it has been restored, completing the full disaster recovery lifecycle.
