This page describes who the 1cal feed is designed for and how different types of users interact with the calendar data it produces. Understanding the intended audience helps you decide whether 1cal fits your situation and how you are expected to use the merged calendar feed. Whether you are a parent managing your family's sports schedule or a caregiver who needs read-only visibility into upcoming events, this page clarifies where you fit in.

Who 1cal is built for

1cal is designed primarily for parents and family organizers who track children's sports schedules across multiple platforms — such as GameChanger, TeamSnap, and SportsEngine — and want all of those events visible in a single calendar without manually copying anything.

If you find yourself switching between two or three apps just to know when Saturday's baseball game is, or forwarding schedule links to a co-parent every week, 1cal is built for exactly that situation.

Primary user: the account owner

The account owner signs in, adds children, connects sports platforms, and manages RSVP responses. You are the account owner if you:

• Set up the 1cal account and linked your sports platforms
• Respond to game and practice RSVPs on behalf of your family
• Share access with co-parents or caregivers
• Subscribe to the merged calendar feed in Apple Calendar or Google Calendar

As the account owner, you interact with 1cal directly through its interface — viewing your unified calendar, RSVPing to events, and adjusting settings.

Secondary users: co-parents and caregivers

The account owner can invite co-parents or caregivers to access the family calendar. These users receive either read-only or read-write access, depending on what the account owner chooses.

• Read-only access — you can see all events and schedules but cannot change RSVP status or modify settings.
• Read-write access — you can view events and update RSVP responses, giving you the same day-to-day scheduling capability as the account owner.

If you were invited by a family member, you do not need to connect any sports platforms yourself. The events are already there, shared from the account owner's setup.

Calendar subscribers

Anyone with the merged calendar feed URL — including the account owner and invited family members — can subscribe to the 1cal feed directly inside Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or any app that supports ICS subscriptions. Once subscribed, your calendar app pulls in all events automatically on a regular schedule.

This means you can consume your family's full sports schedule inside the calendar app you already use every day, without opening 1cal at all after the initial setup.

Who this audience is not

1cal is not designed for:

• Teams or coaches managing a roster (the supported platforms handle that side)
• Individual athletes who do not have children on a team
• Organizations looking to publish schedules to a large audience

If you are an athlete or a team administrator, the platforms 1cal connects to — GameChanger, TeamSnap, SportsEngine — are the right tools for creating and managing schedules. 1cal sits on the receiving end, pulling those schedules together for family visibility.

Example: a typical family setup

Here is how the intended audience maps to a real household.

Scenario: Maya has two children on different teams. Her son plays baseball on GameChanger, and her daughter plays soccer on TeamSnap. Her co-parent, Jordan, also needs to see the schedule.

Account owner:  Maya

Invited user:   Jordan (read-write access)

Calendar subscribers:

• Jordan accepts the family sharing invite, subscribes to the same merged feed URL in Google Calendar, and can update RSVP status without needing to log in to GameChanger or TeamSnap separately.
• Both see weather forecasts on upcoming events and receive updates automatically when the schedule changes on either platform.

Expected outcome: Neither Maya nor Jordan manually enters a single event. Any schedule change published by the coach in GameChanger or TeamSnap appears in both of their calendars within 30 minutes.
